Salt water pool with very low chlorine levels

Hi All. I’m a pool noobie. Upgraded my pool equipment this year with a Hayward AquaRite SWG with t-15 40,000 cell.

Anytime my water is tested the chlorine readings are constantly low. Yesterday it was down to only 0.25ppm.

Have the SWG set at 40%. Pool pump is brand new and running 24/7.

Chemicals and pool details below:

Size : 20,000 gal
Ph : 7.4
Cya : 30 (I’m assuming this is the problem)
Salt : 3000

Is my issue simply a matter or low CYA? Should I bring it up to 60? Wondering if there’s anything else I should be looking at.

17,

Since your FC has been very low for a period of time, I suggest that you do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test or OCLT. Here is how... Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

If you pass the OCLT then increasing your CYA should help, but you don't want to increase it before passing the OCLT.

If you fail the OCLT, you will need to do a SLAM SLAM Process A SLAM is easier when the CYA is lower.

Thanks,

Jim R.
