Hello,

I'm having trouble with my Sodium Chloride (salt water) test. K1766.

After the R630 drop it turns yellow. Fine.

However I'm unable to reach a "red" salmon color. It turns and stays thick milky white with clumps. I've went up to 35 drops of the reagent.

At the pool store they tell me I'm at 3000-3500 range which is good.

Any ideas? On how I can get a reading on my salt?

Thank you.

You using 10 ml water sample?

You using the Speedstir or swirling by hand?

Another question. Is it better to use the Speedstir with this test?

It seems the constant fast stirring may affect the color change?

Just asking because when I stopped the stirring in the speedstir it changed color right away.

The speedstir is best for all the tests. The speedstir ensures better and more complete mixing. You shouldn’t be turning it off before the test is complete and confirmed with an extra, not counted, drop that causes no further change.
