Salt Readings = 25000. Aquapure 1400 stops generating chlorine

This morning, the 1-touch display of my Jandy system showed salt reading of 25,000 and AquaPure 1400 not working. But the salt content was measured at 3200 just a few days ago. So I tried to recalibrate the Salinity by following the procedure given in the Jandy manual. However, the Front board does not enter into the Salinity display after the 3 beeps. Instead it shows the Aquapure %. Thus, the Salinity cannot be recalibrated. Please help.

I'm not very familiar with Jandy SWG's but was salt recently added to the pool? Do you have an independent salt test kit to measure the true salinity level?

An update on my my " Salt Reading 25000 " problem: I was able to re-calibrate the Salinity value after powering the system down and up a couple of times. I put in the independently-measured Salinity value of 3200 and the Aquapure started generating chlorine again. However, since I still don't know the cause of this problem, I suspect that it will re-occur again.

In the course of trouble shooting the problem, I also followed the Jandy procedure to check out the front board. The numbers looked good. This means the Front board is ok.

I need to correct a statement I made in an earlier post about the Trisensor being 7 years old. Actually a new one was put in on 8/5/2016. So it is less than a year old.

The "Salt Reading 25000" problem happened again after I re-calibrated the Salinity value to 3200 as mentioned in my previous post. So, this morning, I cleaned the AquaPure 1400 cell, checked the Trisensor and cleaned the DEL60 filter. After all that work, the system still shows error code of 172 indicating that there is a problem with the Trisensor. Since I have checked everything else in the system, I'll be calling Zodiac for a Trisensor replacement, since the unit is less than 1 year old and should be under warranty.

Thanks for all the help.

Are you using program A or B?

You should be on B if it's the new style sensor. If it's the old style sensor, you need the little adaptor board with the little black jumper installed.

I have the old style sensor ( R0403800 ), which came with a small circuit board at the end of the cable. There was no jumper on the circuit board and I was told by the seller to take off the circuit board before connecting to the Front board and I did on 8/5/16. The Sensor worked until now. But I can easily put the circuit board back in but how do I install the jumper ?

Thanks for your help.

Whats with the threaded sensor, R0403800. Cannot find them anywhere. Mine has gone out again. First one replaced had no extra PC board. Second replace came with a PC board and then had to pay extra for a short cable. Now the sensor appears to be out again and I cannot find one. Three sensors needed in 9 years????
