Salt reading zero

I checked SWG and it reads 0 for salt level. I replaced the cell and get the same reading.

I've already tried to "reset" the salt sensor by turning it to OFF, then back to AUTO (at 100%) and went to the instant salt reading (pressing Diagnostic 5 times, to reach to that reading where it usually is a negative number). It's like -300 or so right now. What else can be the issue if this is a brand new cell?

  • Move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.
  • Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.
  • Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.
• What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
• What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?

Same readings when switched back to Auto. Same readings after waiting a minute.

The box serial numbers on box is 5A0702-1024515
Cell serial number is 888AA5DH

Salt is actually 2400 through a water sample at the local pool store. Display shows zero but the board has power and says generating. Not low salt light displayed.

Check the condition of the thermistor on the board.

You installed a non-Hayward cell? It may have blown the thermistor.

If I had a bad thermistor on my aqua rite chlorine generator, would the power and generating lights light up. I am asking because those two lights are on but my salt reading is at zero and the actual salt level is at 2,600 (tested at local pool store). I replaced the cell and no change. Could the thermistor be bad?
