I'm considering conditioning my pool with salt for comfort but will not be installing a SWG (for now). I was figuring on around 1k ppm. I assume I'll have to raise my CYA, if so is there a calculation for CYA:NAaCl ?

There is no reason to raise the CYA just due to adding salt.
I would target the salt to 2000ppm (test first since not likely 0 to start) and then treat the pool as a non SWG pool.

I think I lost my original response, if so, If "there is no reason to raise the CYA just due to adding salt", why the need for elevated CYA in a SWG pool?
Because SWGs add FC slowly so the extra CYA helps protect it from the sun and also the SWG does not have to work as hard and the cell should last longer.
