Salt Cell No Longer Working* - Do I Treat My Pool Like A Chlorine Pool Now?

*I'm fairly confident that our salt cell (6 years old / way outside of 10,000 hour range) is no longer working. I've cleaned it but I don't think it's really working at this point. For the last month, I've essentially been treating my pool as a chlorine pool (and adding liquid chlorine). Is that the right/continued course of action? Basically, that a SWG pool should be treated as a 'regular pool' in the absence of a working salt cell?

My current CYA is 40 and my water looks great. But if I treated the pool with SWG numbers, I should (in theory) raise the CYA a bit.

Just want to make sure I'm treating the pool in the right direction.

Thank you.

Follow the Liquid Chlorine recommendations when chlorinating with Liquid Chlorine.

Use the SWG recommendations only when the SWG is operational.
