Safety cover

Welcome to TFP.

It is done. Nothing you can do about it now.

Were they made aware ahead of time that they would be drilling into tile versus cement? It may have required a more specialized drill bit?

I can't see any way to fix it, although I wouldn't want to see any cracks extend . I'm sorry this happened.

That looks horrible.

They should have used a core drill diamond bit but it takes longer.

You might expect to pay about $300.00 to $400.00 more to core drill vs. hammerdrill.

Most contractors don’t know or care about core drilling.

You paid a lot for the travertine and it stinks that they damaged the stone with their incompetent and improper installation.

They should have done it correctly.

How much did you pay for the cover?

Was installation included or was that extra?

If installation was extra, how much was installation?

How much did you pay for your travertine decking?

The stones don’t really look like travertine; they look more like marble.

Can you show a picture of the whole deck?

Do you have enough stones to replace the damaged stones or can you get matching stones?

I would ask the company to replace the stones and install the cover properly without damaging the stones.
