Will someone please tell me why the recommended chlorine level should be at a minimum of 2 to 4 before entering pool. I have seen this on labels and read about it from pool managers. Is it technically correct or just opinions. THANKS

Because they either are not aware of or refuse to acknowledge the chemical buffering and bonding relationship between cyanuric acid and chlorine. It is entirely incorrect on all counts.

It is technically correct if the water is straight out of the tap. Then it's high enough to kill viruses and bacteria. Once you start buffering the chlorine with CYA, it no longer holds.
