I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post it this but here goes. When I opened my pool, I found some old tomato stakes that had blown into pool and I missed it. It left a rust spot in the rust spots or nail spreading. I’m not worried as much about the spots as I am about the amount of metal in the water. Should I buy something to test the metal or simply just use a metal remover? I have never used one before, so I need some advice. Thanks in advance.

Rub a paste of Vitamin C in a sock on the areas.
Do spot treatments. Don't throw chemicals into your entire pool.
Post pics of the problems.

I did that and spots didnt change at all. There are so many spots and many in the deep end.

If the spots did not change at all then it may not be rust and iron staining.
