Hi all!

I have problems with rust coming out of my salt water pool:

I have tried to open it, and it seems the screw heads were rusted:

I have replaced the screws by good stainless steel screws (316 / A4). That did not solve the problem, and the rust build up is continuing.

I have now just purchased titanium screws (which should not rust at all).

However, I am wondering if I am going the right direction. Does anyone have suggestion on how to solve this problem?

I thought maybe it could be a water problem, but I have a metal, stainless steel ladder, and it has no severe mark of rust (just a bit).

Grateful for any advice!

What materials are the surface and walls of your pool?

It looks like the rust is coming from your pool walls, not the screws.

Thank you Allen!

The pool itself is with a vinyl liner. I think behind it is a metal structure.

I tried to test for leaks in the skimmer with fluorescein (putting it in the water, and seeing if it goes towards a hole), but didn't find any leak.

I am confused as to what I should do. and also as to how big of a problem it is.
