I've had an AGP since I was a kid, and have had them in a couple homes as an adult, and never heard of one blowing out and failing until last summer, when a local family had their AGP fail and blow out. I started googling to see how it happened and learned that rust, often caused by leaks, is often the catalyst.
The house we're in now has a 15x35-ish Doughboy. I'm not 100% sure when it was installed, but the liner has a few patches and I'm considering replacing it next year so I can get a good look at the walls.
My question - attached are a couple pictures under the return jet where rust is forming, and it's prevalent at the bottom as well. Should I be concerned? As far as prevention goes, has anyone just replaced the wall? Or am I looking at a new pool entirely?
Thanks TFP!
