Rust around skimmer

Hello all,
I've got some rust around the lip of my skimmer. Wondering if anyone had any ideas to buy me some more time before I need to replace.
I was thinking of using this product but thought I'd run it by others who have been in similar situations.

Other than this everything is in good shape. No water is getting in behind so no problems with the pool wall itself. Inground pool, built in the 80's. Hayward skimmer.

Try one of the many “rust neutralizer” products. You don’t need that whole kit.
