Run IC40 with EasyTouch - without pentair pump :)

Hi,
Recently my Intelliflow Pump died, decided to change to a different brand pump not compatible with easytouch.

now when the pump is running (independent of EasyTouch), i want to activate the ic40, so I am running the easyTouch on the same schedule as before.

what i see is that ic40 comes on for 1 sec (when water is flowing) and shuts off, cant even read which lights come on. Cannot tell if ic40 has also died or is it not running as EasyToch doesnt detect pump running.

question is do i need to change any settings so ic40 can run without easyTouch?
I know this makes easy touch a very expensive automation piece that will only control ic40 at best

sam,

What pump did you buy? Is it a VS pump? What kind of schedule is it on??

The IC40 will only run if the Pump/Filter relay is closed.

What did you do in the EasyTouch to control the IC40?? I suspect that is the problem..

Do you have ScreenLogic on your EasyTouch?

Thanks,

Jim R.

@Jimrahbe

bought a CaliMar VS pump 3hp, but its not compatible with EasyTouch. Don't have ScreenLogic

RE: Easy Touch, didnt change anything. its running on its own schedule (independent of the pump): 7am-7pm Pump + Intellichlor (of course now there is no pump). could buy the calimar integrator, but i've heard its only going to run the pump as 4 speed pump.

is there any way to bypass the pump or delete the pump in EasyTouch so it only controls ic40 ? and IC40 by itself will detect flow and then run

Sam,

Try this at the main panel..

Menu, Settings, IntelliChlor, (Then Pump#1 if you have that option)

Change pump type to "none".

Menu, several times to get back to the AUTO window.

This will make the EasyTouch think you have a single speed pump.

This assumes that your cell's transformer is wired correctly to the load side of the Pump/Filter relay.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Have the option and tried that. The Ic40 came alive for a sec and then went back.

Is there a wiring diagram to see if transformer is loaded to pump ?

Thanks,
Sam

Can ic40 be actuated when motor is running ? Thinking that might be a simpler option
Sam,

That is what we are trying to do... Sigh...

Tell me what the little EasyTouch display shows, when you are trying to run the Cell???

If you can, Show me a pic of the inside of your EasyTouch so I can see the Pump/Filter relay.

Thanks,

Jim R.
