No. You'll risk sucking it to where you have zero chance of getting to it. Or you'll risk a possible dead head situation if the pump cant move enough water past the rock.

If you have multiple skimmers and can shut the suction off from this one, that would be ok.

You can chlorinate easily. Add LC, brush the general area quick and have the swimmers stir up the pool.
