Robot Filter Clean

I have a Pentair Prowler 920, and typically use the fine pleated filters. I remove the bot from the pool daily for swimming, and also clean the filters with the garden hose daily. However, most of the time, there’s not a lot there to clean out. I think the fliters could probably go for a week or so, and still be in pretty good shape, but I’m always nervous about letting it go, especially when the bot is out of the water, and not exposed to chlorination, and then put back in the pool.

Any thoughts ?

I would not let the filters dry out when dirty. My robot simply lives in the pool and I clean the filters every 3 or 4 times I run it, usually every 7-10 days.

For the 1st year, I would remove the filter basket and remove all 4 pleated filters and rinse them all separately with the hose. Now if they aren’t very dirty … I just rinse of all the filters while they are still attached to the basket. It makes it a little quicker and easier.

If you remove the robot clean the filters. If you dont feel like cleaning the filter, I just leave the robot in the pool for an extra day.

If it's just sand debris, I let it ride for several cleanings, and, my pool doesn't get that dirty anyway. If it's after I mow, I don't like leaving all the organic matter in the water festering, so I clean right after cycle.

Since my robot never stays in the pool, I just rinse the filters after each use. Only takes a few minutes.
