Rising TA and calcium

Hi everyone. Been using tfp method with liquid chlorine for a few years. In January I converted to salt water with a RJ 60

Every year I fight with PH and alkalinity. I worked last summer to get it down, but now it’s up again. I am adding about a half gallon a week or muriatic. My TA this morning is at 300. What is causing the TA to rise? I do have a small bubbler but I typically don’t run it because it raises PH.

I also getting the small calcium flakes in the pool from the SWG. Anything I can do to prevent?

Fc: 4.0
PH: 7.8
CH: 400
CYA: 55 (working to raise this to 70)
TA: 300

What is causing the TA to rise?
Unless you are adding baking soda, it has to be your fill water. A bit unusual for your area as far as I know.

Let the pH hit 8.0 then use enough muriatic acid to lower the PH to 7.0-7.2. That large swing should help lower the TA each time.
