Hello from Georgia, we have a 27 ft diameter above ground pool since August 2021. Just recently, I lowered the water level and placed the level in the rinse position of course in error. It ran for 5 hours that night. The following day I found the water level down to the skimmer level. I am filling the pool back and repositioned back to filter. I started the pump....loads of air at the discharge.... how soon before its back to normal?

I have barely cracked the valve one skimmer at a time so it has some suction but won’t suck enough air to stop the pump from starving. Then let it run for a hour and then crack a little more.
I have also stuck a water hose in the skimmer return and turned the water on wide open and the try and low the valves.

Always good to have another Georgian in the house.
Your line got air in it when the skimmer went low. As you run the system with the proper level of water the air will work its way out.
