Return eyeball

The return eyeball fittings are removable and replaceable without draining, right? I'm trying to come up with a solution for getting a little more water movement on the far end of my 18x33 AGP and thought using an elbow fitting would help.

Do you have this one? If so it's 3 pieces. The mushroom cap screws off, the eyeball falls out, then you unscrew the threaded barrel. Sometimes the cap is tight enough the whole thing unscrews. It should be 1.5 inch NPT.
