Resurfaced pool showing white streaking?!

Hi there,
I’ve done quite a bit of research on this and still unsure as to how best to proceed here, so be fantastic to get some insight.

Have a ~13K gallon inground pool, had it completely refinished last season professionally with an aggregate mix, and was not cheap.

Opened it this season to see white streaking all over the pool bottom, somehow hoped it would go away.

Two months later it has not, the pool has been kept in balance well this season and last, there are no issues with any pumps or circulation.

I texted the guy who did the pool and this was his response “Likely just whatever remaining cream left over from surface, which is normal. Right now would be the perfect time to do a hot start up procedure as it will remove that and perfectly expose everything now that that vast majority has worked itself away”

He’s talked about this concept of ‘cream’ and I think leaching over time. Not to say I don’t trust his POV but before I dove into a hot start procedure love to get some input from this community here if this is legit or not.

See photos of pool floor…

Thanks so much for any perspective.

Welcome! That does not look like normal streaking. You might notice that TFP has specific guidelines about what good water balance actually means and so would need you to post up some test reaults of the water, preferrably from one of a couple test kits we trust.

For sure, I have the Taylor 2006C kit - what test results would be helpful?
All of them, and if you gave a log of results over the past its even better.

It kinda looks like some kind of particles sat in the floor and dissolved. How is the pool chlorinated and how is the pH managed?

ok will run some tests. I just converted to SWG (after this picture was taken) but prior to that I used granules as not able to source pool bleach easily recently, and then with stabilizer tabs (in a float). Could chorine granules somehow settle and cause this then?
