We have an Intex 12-inch sand filter that we originally set up for 5 hours on manual mode. How do we reset the hours back to 00, so we can set up the timer. We can’t get either of the timer and/or lock/unlock buttons to reset anything and when we use the power button, it just turns out filter on or off for 5 hours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to TFP.

For pump models SF80110-2, SF70110-2, and SF70110-2:

You set the number of hours for the pump to run. The number displayed is hours per day. The next day it wI’ll turn on at the same time you started it and run for the set number of hours. There is no clock to set.

To change, hold the lock button until it beeps, then the controls are unlocked. Press the time button to select time from 1-12 hours per day, or "FP" for continuous pumping. It locks and applies settings after 10 seconds, so you always need to hold the unlock button until it beeps before you can adjust the hours to run beginning at the current time.

Thanks for your response; I tried to unlock it and it will never beep to unlock. That’s what I think is so weird - why can’t I get it to reset?

Does the display start flashing at all? On mine I hardly have to hold the unlock button, it's maybe half a second, then it beeps and the display starts flashing. Once the display is flashing I can press the hour button to cycle through hours.

If the display doesn't flash and it doesn't beep when you press or press and hold the unlock button it sounds like a bad unlock button to me.

I did have one idea, unplugging the pump to reset it to the factory settings, as the initial hour setpoint can be done without pressing the lock button, as you well know. But at least on mine, turning it off and unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in did not reset it. It remembered that I had set it to "FP" and when I pressed power it turned back on with "FP" displayed.

I'd probably start a warranty claim myself if I were you, assuming it's under warranty still.

It doesn’t do anything, so I think the button must be bad. We bought it in July of last year - I wonder how long a warranty lasts? Trying to get Intex on the phone, though, may be a losing battle! I can’t even get them to respond to my contact us emails. I assume everyone else is having the same issue with contacting them. I’ll try the warranty route, as that has to be the issue.

My warranty is two years, but I have the Intex Ultra XTR. Before the XTR, all models had a 90 day warranty, though that was for the pool and may be different from the pump.

I tried unplugging mine for more than ten minutes but it still doesn't reset and continues to remember I had it set to FP, so that route doesn't look hopeful.
