I am replacing my vinyl pool liner next week, the old one was 12 years old. I have a SWG and cartridge filter. My contractor wants $800 to balance the pool after he has installed the liner. Does this make sense, or should I just do it myself.
If you are already testing and maintaining your pool now I would save the $800 and do it yourself. If you are unsure what will be needed post a set of test results here after its refilled and someone here can help guide you on what to do
For them to balance it they need to come out a few times and you’re mostly paying labor/travel for them to do it. The total time that your job takes them away from other jobs, and the actual time spent at your house can be considerably different and $150ish an hour adds up quick. Then they are marking up the overpriced chemicals on top of that.
Test your fill water (post the results) and we can tell you what to have on hand before it’s even filled. We can walk you through the rest and you’ll save most of the $800.
