Replacing Sta-Rite pump with ____???

I am looking to replace my old very loud inefficient pump with something else.
Current pump:
Sta-Rite JWPAS5F-24A
HP - 1.5
115V

attached to sand filter:
Sta-Rite - T-210WF
44 GPM

Pool is around 20,000 gallons.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Welcome to tfp, elett01

Do you have any high volume water features (deck jets, waterfalls, etc.)?

By the way, your filter is on the small size for your pool...not that I would replace it if you are not having trouble with it. For future reference, I believe it is 2.4 sq. ft and we would recommend a minimum 3.7 sq. ft. for your pool.

It is actually only 2.18 sq ft. Should I consider replacing it someday?
When you do need to replace it, I would get a bigger one.

2) do I have to replace the whole pump, or can I just get a new motor?
You can just replace the motor if the pump is in good shape (you will need to replace the seals too). This has to be confirmed, but I think this is the 2-speed motor you need: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/03500017074549.htm

You could also buy a new 2-speed 1 hp Hayward Matrix or Pentair Dynamo.
