Replacing filter system

Hey everyone,
I've been told that my filter system is not good enough for my pool (I often get "Lo" indication in my heater, pressure it too low, and when I clean the filters it solves it temporarily).
I've got an inquiry to either install Hayward s270t sand filter for $1500 including installation, or Pentair FNS Plus for $2100-$2300.
Both are roughly double the cost of the parts if I buy them myself. This is the current system I have installed:IMG 0609.jpg

Questions:
  1. Which system would you recommend between the 2?
  2. How complicated it is to install these myself (assuming decent hands and I have tools)?
Thanks you!

I need to sell you new tires and a new roof while we're at it.

First everyone here is gonna ask you to fill out what your pool is and what equipment you have. so do that first and then you will get lots of help.

What size are your current filters? Are they plumbed in parellel.
Can you post a full set of pool water chemistry test results using your own kit?

What is occurring sounds more like algae in the water than anything else.

In terms of the equipment, I believe that it's all in the previous picture, anything else should I include?
write the make/mod of the filters, pump, heater, SWG, any other equipment you have. You can fill it out in your account details

Pump - Pentair WFE-6
Filters- Hayward c1200 - 2 in parallel
Heater- Hayward, I believe its the H400FDN

I don't have yet water chemistry test results. The water circulation is not strong enough at the moment.

Any other information will be helpful?
Appreciate the support.

Forgot - there is also a booster pump Hayward 6060 (I believe it's for the robot cleaner?)

Let us know when you can properly test the water chemistry. The fact you say everything is fine after cleaning the filters means you have algae.

While slightly on the small size, 240sq. ft. total filtration area, you have a good system that would benefit from a VSP over an S-270T. While I love sand filters in an area like your pool, that is not the issue. A dual-filter system plumbed parallel is what large, multi-cartridge, single tank filters were designed to replace. Two filters like yours are actually a better idea.
When were the filter cartridges last replaced? If you want sand, go for the S-310T and be done. Do you have automation? Get a VSP (or a variable-speed 2.25THP motor for that pump) and live the good life.
Can you do it? Sure, if you're comfortable with cutting and gluing the PVC. Would love to see some hi-temp pump unions in the filter pump as well. Those pipe adapters were threaded too far into the pump.
