Replacing Drain Plug

I have Jandy DE 60 Filter. It's an older model that still has a combination of these two parts for the drain plug
Jandy DEV Filter, Bulkhead Assy. w/O-Ring (R0465600) and Jandy CL Series Filter Drain Cap Assy (R0523000)

Can it be replaced by
Jandy® DEL Series Drain Plug w/O-Ring (R0358800)

Not sure that the R0358800 has threads long enough to reach into the tank. Also the R0358800 plug has pipe threads, the bulkhead fitting is threaded diferently,

Thank you. opening the original plug has been very dificult because of it's round design. Was hoping to replace it with something easier
