Hello all, I have been avoiding replacing my remote for some time now. Can't justify spending over $400 for a unit that will not last. Found this thread and decided to give it a try. I was not able to find the battery that davemcclain used but I think I found a suitable replacement, added bonus is that you can get it with the PCB already on it. See link below. I have also found a YouTube video of how to disassemble the remote without cutting into the back panel. See the second link below. This guy used a different type of battery but I did like his method for getting into the remote. I will give an update on my progress when I get the parts in.

Welcome to TFP.

The battery seems to be the weak link in remotes of many types. I hate when manufacturers make remotes with non replaceable batteries.

Keep us informed of how the project goes.
