Replacement of Pool Light

My pool light GFCI tripped due to water getting into the housing (which I'm glad it did work). The pool light appears to be quite old. All markings/labels are worn off. I want to replace with an LED light, and want to ensure I get the correct replacement. Should I not worry so much about the existing style to find a matching replacement and focus on the dimensions? The dimension between the pilot hole on the top and the bolt on the bottom is 10", the interior dimensions of the niche is 9", and the depth of the light fixture is just under 8". I'm looking at the J&J ColorSplash LPL-F2C-120-30-P as the replacement (no transformer, so I need the 120V). It is uses only a single pilot screw and has 10.5" exterior face dimension (which is fine as I would expect the face to be a little bigger than the niche). My concern is that my light looks like a Sta-Rite SwipQuip, which is an old style, and J&J makes a different replacement for SwipQuip fixtures (LPL-F2C-120-30-PSQ). It is hard to find documents on the old SwipQuip styles, but it appears that the external dimension is maybe only 9", which is why it would require a special replacement.

Should I just go with my tape measure readings and get the LPL-F2C-120-30-P or is there any reason I need to be concerned about using an exact replacement? I can't think of any reason, other than fit, as to why it would be an issue. It is a total replacement, so new wiring. Is there anything about how the niche was installed that I would need to worry about?
