I have Hayward equipment and my system reports zero salt. I assume my salt producer has failed. I googled the above and it’s out of stock in most places so I was thinking maybe there is a better or newer version for a 40k pool?

Low salt readings on a Hayward cell may indicate cell failure. Zero salt reading is usually a board failure.

This is the basic information we need to know in diagnosing a problem:

  • Report all readings when you..
    • Move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.
    • Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.
    • Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.
  • What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?

Sorry for the delay and thank you. I purchased one of those electronic salt meters and indeed it is not low.

It says salt level 00000

All the other readings like temperature and chlorinate setting which is 80% seem correct.

I have glx-cell-15-w
Serial is 1E17118-401627

The motherboard was replaced about 18 months ago.

The salt reading is 4100
Unfortunately I was an idiot and when I saw the initial low salt error message the first time I put several bags of salt in. I plan to bring it down by filling the pool with additional water over the next month. There is an over flow.

The meter is easeasongear salt 3050

I’m not familiar with k-1766
