Hi,
My aunt had high CYA so we replaced water but now the liner seems to be shifting. Her husband did leave at least a foot of water in there but the liner still moved.
What should he do? Keep filling the water? Try to smooth out the liner and then continue filling?
With an in-ground liner pool the water should never be lowered beyond the top of the bottom step in the shallow end. If this pool was lowered to only 1' left in the deep end, it was drained way too far.
There is no good way to remove the wrinkles. Other members with vinyl liner experience will hopefully have some ideas.
He did stop at the top of the bottom step.
Now we are thinking it might have been because it was extremely windy last night. Perhaps could that have been why for the shifting?
You probably have high ground water. No easy answers. Maybe try to reduce ground water but that risks damaging the liner if the liner doesn't reseat correctly.
Unhook the liner, get a wet vac down as far as possible, seal around the hose with wet rags or tape and fire her up. You may have water behind there so you may have to dump the vac over and over. Use your pool brush to push the wrinkles around.
