Pool is a Buckeye Pools, Dayton Ohio.
The coping around our pool is dirty and we can't get it clean. Pool company doesn't recommend painting it.
Our local pool company said the only thing you can do is replace it but they were concerned that it would cause major issues.
It is the original coping. Does anyone have experience with covering it. We are thinking of using porcelain tile and put it over the existing rubber coping that is anchored to the fiberglass wall. We would adhere the tile with special silicone adhesive. Has anyone every done anything like this? Our pool company doesn't know of anyone that has done it but thinks it should work. Any advice is appreciated. Below is how it would look. Thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

Is your pool fiberglass or a liner?

If it is fiberglass you are basically installing waterline tile.

I think your risk is if the rubber coping begins deteriorating behind the glued tiles you could end up with a big mess. Are you sure the silicone adhesive is compatible with the ribber?
