After years of over tightening pressure gauge when opening pool a fine crack has developed at a seam just under the mounting hole threads. Any idea on a Mugyver type fix?
Thank you. Will pickup some and give it try. I tried some plumbers putty and it reduced the leak to a bearable drip but I can see a bubble forming. Will let you know.
the tank body is probably fibreglass. you are better off replacing that part as any glue or epoxy would be temporary at best. Use a fibreglass rated glue (fibreglass resin) from your local hardware store. It has to chemically bond/melt to the filter in order to work.
X2 what JamesW said. A picture would definitely help. Also it would help to know which filter you have. Very few filters have the gauge threaded directly into the filter body.
The pump ‘wall’ has a hair crack just under the pressure gauge screw in (currently filled with a plug). The filter is constructed with a rigid thermoplastic material
I agree it is time to replace filter. I was hoping for a quick fix to get time to budget for purchase and still enjoy pool for our too short summer. Marine epoxy or Fiberglas ‘glue’ might bye a month (hopefully two).
