Refilling a salt water pool - chlorine required?

I have a 27,000 gallon vinyl pool that is getting a new liner due to hurricane damage. I have an SWG for the pool but don't know how to go about setting up the pool after the liner is replaced. Will I be able to use just the SWG or will I need chlorine as well to get started. I know that I will need to adjust alkalinity, hardness, and PH as part of the filling. I am just uncertain if I can use just the SWG to get the chlorine levels up.

Welcome to the forum!
First adjust pH and add 3 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine. Get 70 ppm of CYA dissolving and raise your FC to target range based on that CYA level. Add your salt and let pump run 24 hours to fully distribute it. Then check the salinity and fire up the SWCG.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Pool School eBook.
