Reducing photo size

I am new to TFP and just tried to upload my first picture and got a message that the file was to large. Can someone please let me know how to reduce the file size. Thanks

A quick way is to email the photo to yourself. Normally it will ask what size do you want to send.

Another method - I can go to my laptop and modify the image by re-sizing in Microsoft Paint to a lower size.
