hello...
Following are my readings:
FC - 6
CC- 1
ph - 7.5
TA - 70
cya - 45

Do I need to SLAM to reduce CC (usually my CC is 0.5.....all of a sudden the past month or so - jumped to 1)

Have brushed - dont see any sign of any algae

Also - clean your vial you use for FC testing with bleach or rubbing alcohol. Sometimes CC will show up if the vial is contaminated.

Apologies for the late reply - have been traveling for work (my teenager has been maintaining the FC while I have been away)...so last night I checked the CC again - was 1.5 - thought to myself let me change my Chlorine beaker/tube (always end up buying a new one from TFP when I buy the reagents)....did the test again - to my surprise CC was either 0.5 or 0 (did the test twice). The old Chlorine beaker/tube was misty on the inside (I wash always after the tests but a film builds up - have been using it close to a year.....maybe due to the water hardness??).....any ideas what may have happened? do I clean old Chlorine beaker/tube with rubbing alcohol?

PS not using a cover...pool runs all year round
Water temp - 64

Sorry just read mknauss's post...stupid me....learned something new...thank you!!
