Recovering from 7” rain with lowering POP

Days out from a sadly historic rain in my town and I’ve been struggling to get back to normal since then.

Here’s a quick rundown:
-A few hours before the storm, pool was clear, balanced and perfect. Epic rain caused overwash into pool. pumped a bit out and ran filter all night

-Day 1: next morning, low salt (well, low everything!). Didn’t have time to test water (flooded basement too!) but dumped in 3G bleach as it was all I had on hand. Skimmer socks lined with brown mud. Ran pump all night

-Day 2: cleaned filter, brushed. Muddy skimmer socks. Greenish blue milky

spouse is getting antsy. Wants either pool company or big bottle of Blue stuff.
Other than not jumping on this right away, what am I doing wrong?? Does it take a week to get clear again?

If you ended up with a lot of mud in the pool, it could take some time for the filter to clear it up.

What do do you mean you slammed on day 3 and did a “morning slam” on day 5? That’s not how a SLAM Process works.

You take your chlorine to shock level, test several times a day, and maintain it there
