I have been monitoring the chlorine and pH since I bought this house Sept 1st. The chorine fluctuates and the pH creeps up high. But I’ve managed it. Then I finally tested for CYA and it’s crazy high. I have my pool scheduled for draining but they can’t help me for two weeks. In the meantime we’ve discovered algae. I can’t wait 2 weeks to drain!
Recent pool owner in Arizona needs serious help to control CYA and algae.

Welcome. Have you taken a look at the FC/CYA chart, its in my signature if you need? Can you tell us what your "crazy high" CYA is, as that will drive how much chlorine you need for maintenance and to kill algae (SLAM level).
