Rebuilt hot spring grandee hr rub

My seven person hot springs hot tub got hit by hurricane sandy. Sat water in equipment cabinet killed my spa. Asked local dealer was told throw it away. I spent 10 grand in 2005 when I pushed the dealer he told me 5000 and no guarantee it will work. So I said I can do this. 2500 in parts and I have a brand new hot tub thinking of asking hot springs dealer for a job repairing hot tubs. Just posting to tell anyone who has a hot springs about place in California called backyard plus most reasonable prIces on the web and great tech support. Was two week job but it working like new now need to get algae out of the pool. Reading on Slamming it but might empty and refill its bad. Since Last summer. Well anyone in New York with hot tub issues I'm ready to do repair for reasonable price.

Congrats on the DYI repair job! Well done! But wouldn't insurance have covered this?

I would definitely suggest using some Ahh-some to help clear the plumbing of biofilms and then drain/re-fill. I buy mine via NewEgg.com, often cheapest online source.

Then decontaminating it afterwards bringing up to 50ppm FC for an hour or so then draining and re-filling.

Insurance would not cover because it's not attached to the house They covered the pool liner my deck was ripped off the house and they covered that because attached to house. My pavers got all uneven also and they wouldn't cover that. I can't believe hot springs dealer said five grand and no guarantee. It took 4 years to tackle the tub had three spine surgeries so couldn't do it but if anyone gets salt water on spa parts rinse with house water right away on all internal parts. My kept cracking everyone I touched something.

Thanks for the informative post, and congrats on DIY! Feels good, doesn't it? I just joined this forum, but posts like these are the reason why I chose TFP forum over some of the others. I just got my Hotspring Limelight Gleam (8 person) with the ACE salt system, so I have so much to learn and could use all the help I can get.
