They used #3 throughout the shell of our pool. I was looking at a page on shotcrete.org that says #4 is the minimum size that should be used. They also used the scrapings from the sides in the bottom. I am concerned because within a day or so there were hairline cracks running the length and width of the pool stopping just at the curve of the sides. The base is GA red clay. There is no requirement where I live for any soil testing or inspections. I think their fix for the cracks is simply pebble finishing over it. Seems to me that the cracks would transfer through the plaster.
