Rebar Rust - planning for remodel of 30 yr finish, tile, coping.

Anyone have experience with rust repair during remodel? Success rates, reoccurrence of rust, best procedures?
Information provide by various sources state, cut out rebar until clean steel found, paint, fill void, hope for best on warranty..

Idea of what facing. Some at a water outlet and tile line too

When I had a piece of rusting rebar in my 17 yo pool my PB cut it out and patched the area before replaster.

Allen, how long ago and has any rust reappeared?

May 2017. So not enough time to judge.

There were no other rusting problems and with problem area cut out I dont expect any reoccurrence. The PB who built the pool did the repair and he said it was an area where the rebar was too close to the surface. .
