Reason to go from IC20 to IC40

The IC40 can potentially generate twice the amount of chlorine over its life versus the IC20. For about 20% more cost.

There are other factors, but that is essentially it.

+1. The prices fluctuate sometimes by the hour, but it's like buying your next SWG at 80% off. (Give or take).

The big cost is to get in the game. After that, the better seats cost a fraction of that.

Generating twice the chlorine also means you can run the pump half as much if you desire saving electricity too.

Thanks. I had the IC40 installed.

Another question. I'm only running my pool overnight a low speed for 8 hours. I'm assuming that the SWCG is working during this time. Or do I need the pump running at full speed for the SWCG to work correctly?

You will need to determine the minimum RPM for the pump that will satify the flow switch on the SWG. Do this with a clean filter - then add 100-200 RPM to that to account for the filter getting dirty and restricting the flow. That final RPM number will be the minimum pump speed to allow the SWG to produce chlorine.

OK, I confirmed that running it on low speed (1,800 rpm) is more than enough to run the SWCG. The issue I have now, is the SWGC only runs from the main "Pool" setting. The "Pool Low" (which is the 1,800 rpm) setting won't power up the SWCG. Which explains why it didn't seem to be working.

So I guess I need to reprogram the speed on the main "Pool" setting?

Big,

You have to have the Pool Circuit on for the entire amount of time you want the SWCG to work.

The pump/filter relay will only close if you are in the Pool or Spa modes. This is what turns on the SWCG.

"Pool Low" is just a name, like my name is Jim, so just because you put the word "Pool" in the Circuit Name, does not turn on the Pool Circuit.

Thanks,

Jim R.
