Reading PH results

Is there a proper way to hold the container to read the PH level properly ? Kind of like when you hold the CYA tube at belt level with sun at your back ? Asking as I have issues aligning with the color matching myself and always asking my wife for a second opinion This morning the test water look orange which is not really on the color chart -

Also, my ALK is reading 70 - just as a FYI.

Use a white background and good light.

I use 4 drops of reagent as it helps me with the intensity of the color.

I like to hold the block at arm's length with a white background (Some plastic stacking chairs do well for me) and squint until things get blurry and the numbers aren't readable. Then the colors seem easier to differentiate.

Thanks - I was sing 5 drops as it stated and turning all sorts of directions to try and adjust. I will test with 4 drops and the squint
