Raypak heater sensor failure

I have a Raypak P-M206A. It says sensor failure on the display but is also reading the water temp correctly. I ordered a new sensor but now am doubting this is the issue. Any other things to check?

Also, worked fine last year, and this comes up when I opened it this year. Makes me think I’m missing something simple.

Its a dual sensor (that's why 3 wires) and one side has likely gone bad.
