Hi all! Could there be an easy explanation for mineral deposits on the split face in the raised in ground spa? We have had so many issues with our pool. I can see water dripping very very slowly. This area does not get and splashing.

Thank you!

It is efflorescence. Water is getting into the gunite shell and finding its way out at that point and pulling minerals out with it.

Hairline cracks in the grout on the inside of your spa or on the spillover can let water into the gunite.

I had exactly the same thing under the spillway. Tested a couple ways to remove and by far the best was a power washer pretty close up. Knocked the stuff right off!

Then that jet can be leaking into the gunite and water and minerals are coming out the spa wall.

Spa water is getting to the surface of the spa wall from around the return line, this is the most common way for water intrusion in a pool/spa shell. During the plaster process return lines are packed around with a “hot” mix of plaster to seal the pipe as it extends through the vessel wall. The plumbing inside the bond beam is only a few inches away from the exterior of the surface and water can make its way to the surface easily from the pressure of the inside spa water pushing outwards. Have seen this happen numerous times, just may be the reason for your situation, Ray
