Hi!
SWG.
FC 3.5 (just added a bunch of water yesterday, so it should go up a few points, or ill adjust SWG)
pH 7.6
TA 50
CYA 60 (maybe 70? I cant read this dang test)

OK! So This is the first time Ive ever had to adjust TA. I want to go from 50 to 60. Pool Math app says to add 3lbs 1 oz of baking soda.

I just add that onto the top of the water in the deep end, correct?
Do I need to add half and check tomorrow, or am I good to put the whole load on?

I just want to make sure I dont mess up my first time having to adjust a new thing. Ive only ever had to lower it in the past. My levels usually stay pretty even.

Thank you!

Correct on the amount.

Baking soda can be added by spreading it across the surface of the deep end of the pool.

Whole load for 10 change is fine.

I want to go from 50 to 60.
Why?

No need to add any baking soda. TA of 50 is perfectly fine.

A SWCG pool will rarely (likely never) need baking soda.

What's the TA of your fill water?

For the TA test, are you continuing to add drops until there's no further color change?

A lot of fill water has high TA, so you’ll definitely want to test yours first. If it’s high, that will naturally bring your pool TA up over time and you should skip the baking soda.
