Hey guys, pool math is telling me to raise up my CH, do I really need too? And if so, what do I need to purchase (brand wise) from the store? Thanks. :)

This is the first time that it’s asked me to raise it. My pools autofill is softened water, and from what I understand, that’s a good thing. But I’m wondering if it is to low, and what are the consequences of it??

Just use non-softened water for make up for awhile.

Track your CSI. Keep between -0.6 and 0.6

Marty, funny thing is, I drained 6” of water yesterday from my pool to work on the skimmer, and refilled using my front hose bib which is non softened water. That’s why I ran a full set of tests this morning to see where everything was at. So I suspect it might have been a little lower then that.
I don’t have a test kit for CSI as I don’t have a SWG and didn’t think I needed it. Should I get a kit for that?

No kit needed for CSI.

CSI - Pool School - Calcium Saturation Index (CSI)) is calculated from your other test results plus your pool water temperature. So when you use PoolMath or Pool Math app the CSI is calculated for you.

CSI is important whether you have a SWCG or not. More so with a plaster pool.

Take a look. Let me know if you have questions.

Oh no kidding, I didn’t know that. Lemme go fiddle with that, and I’ll report back. Thanks Marty!!

You know, if everything was as simple as flipping a switch, I’d be one happy camper!!
So here’s the results, am I good? (I’m going to have to brush up on some reading, I never tracked CSI)
