Just installed a new Rainbow 320 in-line chlorinator. It replaces an old one. It keeps filling with water, though slowly, from the bottom of the chlorinator, ie where the check valve is.
The check valve should be good, i checked it and I hear it rattle, AND it’s brand new!
It drains the water out just fine when I turn pump off and remove the lid.
So, is it possible since I have a Hayward variable speed pump, that’s it’s not pushing water through fast enough to create enough force to make sure the valve is closed to prevent the water from coming in from the bottom where the check valve is? (I’m assuming that’s how the check valve is supposed to work, is that a correct assumption?)
Sorry, I’m not sure if I’m wording that correctly, but I hope that makes sense.
I run the pump at 2100 rpm 24/7.
We did not replace the T pipe, we used the existing one, it looked fine.
Please, no comments on switching to a SWG
I do use liquid chlorine, but I use the chlorinator when on vacation.
Thoughts and thanks!!
