Hello - When I went to reorder the PH tester chemical R0004 they didn't have it, the replacement is R0014. I have just tested using the new R0014 and my water is very pale lavendar. Does anyone know if it is the same quantities to test with R0014. I am using 44ml water to 5 drops of R0014. Thank you.

You need a different comparator block. You need to use the midget comparator from a K-1000 or K-1001 or K-1004 test kit.

R-0014 is not a direct substitute for R-0004.

The Taylor 1000 series comparators use R-0014.

The Taylor 2000 series comparators use R-0004.

You cannot interchange these reagents. They are both phenol red indicators but are different concentrations; therefore, they are designed to be used with different comparator blocks.

The SDS sheet reports R-0004 has 1-5 %W/W Nonhazardous and other components below reportable levels, where as R-0014 has 0.1-1 %W/W
