Quickest Way to Lower TA?

For your pool, simplest solution is to just ignore the TA and keep the pH in balance.
There is no need to actively lower or worry about your TA.

You should test your CH at least once, IMO just to be sure it is not somehow very high.

My CH is very high...over 400...unfortunately I'm on a city well with terribly hard water. My only true option for that is to drain some and have fresh water delivered, but every water company near me wont deliver less than 5000 gal.

Even with a CH of 400 you are not near a scaling tendency.

When you pH hits 7.8 drop it to 7.4. Over time the TA will fall. Rain hopefully will keep your pool full. If you have to use a lot of the high CH and TA fill water, then you may need to start getting concerned.
