Quick question on pretreating

My wife is having 5-7 friends over this weekend.

My pool is perfectly balanced right now. Should I add some chlorine the night before or wait till afterwards?

If I should add how much for a 20k pool?

In general you would add extra fc right before your party & then check again right after.
You would raise fc somewhere between high target & slam for your cya depending upon expected conditions- diapers, sunscreen, tanning oil, urinators etc.

3ppm is minimum- minimum is lava- target is what you want to maintain daily. More than target for a party.

Bump that FC up now to 6 or 7, then before the party aim for 7-10. Test and bring it back up after the party as needed.

You have to input your current cya or it goes off of your last logged value.
