Several questions:
1. What is the default temperature?
2. Where in my EZ Touch can I find what it’s set to and can I change this number? I’ve looked on the outside system and I can’t find it
3. When the temp rises back ABOVE the freezeguard temp will the pumps turn off automatically?

B,

The EasyTouch has a fixed "below 35 degrees" set point and I don't believe it can be changed.

If you have ScreenLogic you can tell which circuits are "Freeze protected" by looking at the following set up page. Notice the column On/With Freeze.

In theory the pump will turn off when the temp climbs back up above 35 degrees..

Your pump should have its own freeze control that can be used when not connected to an EasyTouch.

Thanks,

Jim R.

The ET freeze protection temperature is set at 36F. You cannot change it.

It will shut off when the temperature rises above 36F.

Honest -- my manual says 36F -----

Marty,

I never use freeze control, so I had to get out my manual and it says 35 degrees.. The air temp sensor is probably +/- a couple of degrees so it makes no real difference.:p

the circuit will switch on if the air temperature drops to 35° F.

If the outside air temperature sensor falls below 36° F (2° C), “Freeze Protection” is activated and the Filter Pump relay is switched on to circulate the pool water

If the outside air temperature sensor detects the temperature is getting close to freezing point (below 36° F (2° C)).

Freeze protection switches on a circuit if the outside air temperature sensor detects the temperature is getting close to freezing (below 35° F).

In two spots it says below 36 F.

In one spot it says at 35 F, which is consistent with below 36 F.

In one spot it says below 35 F.

The only thing you could possibly do is use the Easytouch calibration to change the air temperature that is perceived by the board.

For example, if it's actually 35 degrees outside you could use calibration so the Easytouch thinks the air temp is 37, or even 33 degrees.

When I was messing with my setup's freeze protection, I could get the ET to adjust some aspects of it, but not all. At some point my pump's internal freeze protection would override what I had set the ET to do. I read somewhere that the pump will run its motor to protect (warm up) its internal electronics. So if you're finding that you can't get the ET to do what you want, that might be what's going on... Freeze protection is not just about the water in the pipes.

which features do i need to activate? I have an aerator line from the equipment pad to the pool edge where it comes out right under the coping. The line cannot be fully pressurized because the end on the pool is exposed to air. Do i need to check the freeze protect on this feature? Or is freeze damage to the lines impossible since remaining water sitting in the pipes can expand easily pushing out some of the air.
