Questions about pool liner color

We are replacing our 10 year old pool liner and the pool builder is encouraging us to buy a dark liner. He said that light colored liners can let light through and maybe encourage the dreaded fungus underneath. We are in north Florida and the pool is in full sun so we are concerned about a darker liner fading faster and also being too hot in the middle of summer. So, three questions. First has anyone heard of this fungus problem and the need for a darker liner to prevent it. And two, do darker liners really fade faster or is that something that we don't really need to be concerned with. Three, do the darker liners really make the water noticeably warmer.

Darker finishes, whatever the pool type, will have much warmer water temperatures.

Have never heard of this fungus issue here on the forum. You might try a Search for it.
